These two companies were combined in August, 1894, which suggests that the picture may have been taken about 1892-3. Next is the Police Station of brick, built in 1886. Beyond Kaahumanu Street is the Bishop Bank, built in 1877, and the Campbell Block, built 1883. The Judd Building, not shown at the corner of Fort and Merchant streets, was erected in 1898. • Photo Credit: copy - Baker, Ray Jerome (1880-1972)  • Gift Of: Baker, Ray Jerome (1880-1972) • Received Date: 1952 • Negative Number: HC 17,067 • Display Date: circa 1892 • Start Date: 01/01/1891 • End Date: 12/31/1893 • Contributed Metadata: Description: On the near left is the Royal Bldg., and the Kamehameha V post office on the corner of Bethel St. On the right is the Enterprise Carriage Co. and the police station on Bethel St. Keywords: Honolulu Title: Merchant St. looking Waikiki from Nuuanu Ave., Honolulu.
