It shall be the duty of the Committee on Consumer Protection and Commerce, unless otherwise directed by the House, to consider all bills, petitions, resolutions, matters and those portions of the budget relating to programs for consumer protection and the regulation of trade, business, professions, and occupations, and other pertinent matters referred to it by the House.
