The papers in the Curtis Piehu Iuakea Manuscript Collection span the years 1875 through 1969, which includes correspondence and materials published after his death. The collection consists mostly of personal papers and documents of the post-monarchy era, and include material on the Lili'uokalani Trust and Kalanianaole lawsuit against the estate. The collection also includes commissions and awards received by Iaukea during his career from 1875-1917.

General Records of the Governor’s Agriculture Coordinator

The records of the Governor’s Agriculture Coordinator’s Office include subject files, correspondence, legislative testimonies, reports, and speeches covering the years 1971 through 1974. The files relate to agriculture diversification, planning and policy in the post plantation era.

Organized in five subseries: Administrative, Legislative, Minutes of meetings, Outgoing letters, and Speeches and Conferences.

Records in the Administrative file relate to the establishment, internal functioning and dissolution of the Office. The Legislative files consist of staff reports, draft of legislation and testimonies related to agriculture and land use planning. Minutes of meetings contain an incomplete set of minutes to the Agriculture Coordinating Committee meetings. Outgoing letters consist of letters and memoranda from the Governor’s Agriculture Coordinator, the Research Analyst and the office secretary. Principal correspondents include the Governor, State and County agencies and members of the Governor’s Agriculture Coordinating Committee. Other documents found in the Outgoing Letters include announcements and agendas of the Governor’s Agriculture Coordinating Committee meetings and reports related to the preservation of agriculture and land development in the post plantation era. Speeches and conferences contain conference materials and speeches given by the Agriculture Coordinator.

Liliʻuokalani Manuscript Collection

This manuscript series contains a wide range of documents covering the political, economic, and social life of Hawaiʻi's last reigning sovereign, Mōʻīwahine Liliʻuokalani from her birth till two years after her death. Also included in the collection are materials from her husband John Owed Dominis and his family.

Records of the Department of Finance

The major portion of the incoming correspondence to the Minister of Finance includes letters and reports from the tax agents on all islands to the Minister. It also includes tax receipts, financial reports from other government agencies, court fines, complaints, etc.

Some non-financial letters to G.P. Judd appear in the earliest correspondence and lists of taxpayers usually enumerated by district (mostly Oahu but some other islands) occur in the 1847-1849 correspondence files.

The expenses incurred in the building and furnishing of the Hawaiian Hotel are detailed mainly in the 1871 correspondence.

Records of the Hawaii Rural Rehabilitation Corporation

The administrative records in this series represent the official papers of the rural rehabilitation program of the Federal Emergency Relief Administration in the Territory of Hawaii beginning from about May 1, 1934.

This series consists of the records on the objectives and procedures of the rural rehabilitation program; and the charter, by-laws, policies, correspondence, and other administrative files of the Hawaii Rural Rehabilitation Corporation. They also contain representative samples of detailed field records of the client case reports on the several islands, agreements, contracts, notes, receipts, and other similar papers.

Records of the Hawaiian Post Office

The Incoming Correspondence to the Postmaster General constitutes a major portion of records of the Post Office Department. This correspondence, usually from the district postmasters to the Postmaster General, includes accounts and business reports, requests for stamps, and complaints about mail routes, shipping, missing mails, and lost keys for mailbags.

Another important record source, the Postmaster General letterbooks, detail the workings of the post office, both internally and internationally, from 1856 to 1901.
