Mostly narrative entries by the Honolulu Harbormaster of damage done to/by ships, piers, or harbor (such as oil spills) while at wharf. Also contains a brief "List of Wrecks and Collisions."
Listed names of vessels and the Health Inspectors who searched them, to determine sanitary conditions and prevent the spread of contagious diseases, such as cholera and the plague. There are no records for 1891.

Records limited to Honolulu board. Contains files on delinquent employers, i.e., those who failed to obtain or renew policies or provide alternate security. Typical files include delinquent employer cards with summary case information, notice letters, subpoenas and transcripts of board hearings. Unresolved cases were referred to the City and County Attorney and include copies of further legal proceedings. The files are not complete, having been sampled during initial processing in the late 1980's, but include samples of various types of employers including taxi companies, dance halls, newspaper distributors, building contractors and various small businessmen such as grocers, launderers, plumbers, etc.

Catalogs wharfage, towage and pilotage fees. Some volumes contain more than one type of account. The Schooner records distinguish between interisland schooners and international vessels. Also list charges to ships for fresh water.

Notarized declarations of "boisterous weather" or other mishaps encountered at sea, declared by the ship's captain upon arrival at the Port of Honolulu. Includes name of vessel, captain, and date of arrival. Few give detailed accounts of damage done to ship or cargo and the storms or accidents which caused it.

Records of Passenger Arrivals and Departures
The records date from 1843-1900, some are undated. Arranged in 2 sub-series: 1) Passenger Manifests, and 2) Bound Volumes.
Contains lists of passengers arriving and departing from foreign ports, nationality, destination, and occasionally age and occupation. Most records from the Port of Honolulu, but some Kahului, Maui arrivals are interspersed among them; 1885-1887 contain Kahului records only.
The bound volumes also include lists of Discharged Seamen (1895-1898) and daily Customs Officers Reports (1893-1894). The Report of Customs Officers lists names of vessels, date of arrival, type of cargo, guards on duty at specific piers, etc.

Contains minutes of court proceedings, transcripts, correspondence between the court and attorneys, documents filed with the court clerk relating to appeals from District Court, circuit court cases, financial reports, district court reports, fines, jury lists, receipts, summons, and warrants. Many of the documents relate to appeals, bankruptcies, estates, civil cases, administration of assets, receiverships, and other court proceedings. The administrative records include reports from court appointed administrators, daily journals, calendars, dockets, ledgers, day books, account books, notary public books, and Supreme Court decisions. Oaths of district court judges, jury commissioners, and attorneys may also be found.
Records in this series dated before 1892 may be identified as Fourth Circuit Court documents. Kauai and Niihau were designated as the Fourth Circuit prior to 1892.
